Let us remind you that the key feature of the Kia Sportage 2022 is two body variants (wheelbase). For Asia and America, an extended version is intended, which was already presented two months ago, and for the Old World – a "shortened" version, which in size will be comparable to the outgoing Sportage. The length of the latter, by the way, is 4485 mm, and the new global Sportage is 4,660 mm (wheelbase – 2,755 mm).
So, as can be seen in the pictures, the European Kia Sportage V has a more compact profile and a different rear end design. The difference from the Asian-American Sportage is especially noticeable in the area of the rear pillar – here – in the door area – the window line rises sharply upward, and the pillar itself is blind, whereas the long-wheelbase version has an additional, third window.
In the press release, the Koreans noted that the Old World Sportage will boast matrix headlights, combined rear lights with the brand emblem, a unique rear bumper design, and the option to order a black roof (i.e., two-tone body paint).
Other details will become known on the day of the premiere of the new Kia Sportage 2022 – it will take place on September 1.
By the way, earlier the European Sportage 5 was already seen on the roads of Europe, and without any camouflage.
