Under the hood of the car is the very turbodiesel that produces 90 hp. It is well known that mileage directly affects the condition of the engine. Simply put, the higher the numbers on the odometer, the more the engine wears out, as a result of which power and maximum torque begin to deviate from factory values. There are cars whose performance drop occurs after covering tens of thousands of kilometers. However, this definitely does not apply to the legendary TDI engine.

This unit is known not only for its very low diesel fuel consumption, but also for its impressive durability. Without a doubt, it is one of the most important and best diesel engines in history. And it is with such an engine that colleagues from Foggy Albion put a 23-year-old Skoda Octavia Tour with a mileage of 432 thousand miles, which is equivalent to about 670 thousand km, on a dyno. Let us immediately note that in 2007 the car underwent chip tuning, which increased its power to 110 hp, so do not look for an error in the results below.

So, after 11 years (and 354 thousand km of mileage) the car produced 106.8 hp on the measurements. Thus, after covering almost 700 thousand kilometers, the engine lost only four "horses". It must be said that the indicator is impressive. The mileage, which would surely have ended the career of most modern cars, did not leave a big mark on the Octavia's engine.
