The Range Electric was built by ECD Automotive Design in collaboration with Electric Classic Cars, a workshop specializing in the electrification of classic cars. The project was based on a regular first-generation Range Rover, with its new internals borrowed from Tesla.

Instead of the classic V8 and fuel tank, the SUV received an electric powertrain producing 450 horsepower and a 100 kWh battery. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds (an excellent figure), and the range on a single charge is approximately 350 km.

In addition, there were other modern touches. In particular, the SUV was fitted with stylish 18-inch five-spoke wheels (with Continental Cross Contact tires), and inside, a new instrument panel, an Alpine Halo 9 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, a rearview camera, and a Bluetooth module were installed. The interior was upholstered in brown leather, and the body was painted in glossy Alpine White. Finally, new bumpers appeared – chrome metal with black plastic "fangs."

American media note that a team of 50 people worked on the conversion. In total, they spent 2,200 hours on the job.
