Volvo spent a whole year talking about the upcoming new model and even published teasers. And now, finally, the new SUV was shown to the public. Autoportal also saw it there for the first time.
The second-generation Volvo XC90 is built on the modular SPA platform. Thanks to this platform, the SUV has become larger than the current version of the model, but at the same time lighter by 150 kg.

Considering that the car is positioned as a premium-class SUV, the interior is made of expensive grades of leather and wood, and the gear shift knob is decorated with crystal from the branded company Orrefors.

Also, engineers have practically gotten rid of buttons on the dashboard; mainly, control of various functions and systems is now carried out through a 9.5-inch touchscreen display.

The new Volvo XC90 will receive two diesel and two gasoline engines. Diesels with 190 and 225 hp will consume 5 and 6 liters respectively in the combined cycle. Among the gasoline units, you can choose between a 254- or 320-horsepower engine.

The top version of the Volvo XC90 will be equipped with a hybrid setup that includes a two-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor. The total power will be 400 hp. With such a unit, the new SUV can travel up to 40 km on electric power alone.
