Today, companies from Japan, Korea and China continue their operations in the Russian Federation.
Toyota continues its operations in Russia, but due to serious supply delays and a lack of components, it suspended car production at its plant in St. Petersburg in early March 2022. The brand's press service stated that the logistics chain for supplies to Russia is currently disrupted, which significantly affects the import of Toyota and Lexus. “We are closely monitoring the situation and hope that supplies may be resumed in the near future,” explained representatives of the Japanese manufacturer.
At the Russian office of Suzuki, they said that as an importer they are “operating as usual, continuing to resolve logistics issues, and dealers are selling available products to customers.”
Korean companies Hyundai and Kia have not made any statements about suspending operations. However, earlier production at the plant in St. Petersburg, where Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio are produced, was stopped due to a shortage of components. There is no direct import of cars from Korea for Hyundai and Kia. Almost the entire model range of the brands is produced in Russia.

Chinese brands
The Chinese company Geely has not ceased its operations in Russia. However, earlier the company's plant in Belarus was stopped due to a shortage of components. Today, production of the Coolray and Atlas Pro models has been resumed. Geely imports from China to Russia continue.
Haval also continues its operations: the company has an enterprise in the Tula region, where the F7, F7x and Jolion crossovers, as well as the H9 SUV, are produced. According to a Haval representative, the difficult supply situation has affected the plant's operations, as has the entire automotive market. “At the moment, we are closely monitoring the situation and adjusting the production plan,” said the brand's representative office. In addition, the company stated that it does not abandon plans to launch the new Dargo model in 2022.
Chery also continues to work, with almost all models available in showrooms. At the same time, in early March, one source of the Russian automotive website autonews.ru reported that the brand had problems with the supply of new cars. However, brand representatives did not confirm this information at the time. “We have revised our logistics chains and are still on track with the planned volume,” explained the Russian division of Chery.
In addition, Changan cars are sold in Russia, but there are major difficulties with car supplies.
