The FAW B30 is one of the brand's latest developments: production of the model started in 2016. The sedan is built on a new modular architecture based on the Volkswagen PQ32 platform. The car's interior is spacious, and the trunk volume reaches 480 liters. The dimensions of the new model are 4625 mm in length (in this parameter, it falls into the same group as the SKODA Octavia, TOYOTA Corolla, HYUNDAI Elantra, and VOLKSWAGEN Jetta), 1790 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2630 mm. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 109 hp at 5500 rpm, with a peak torque of 155 Nm at 3600 rpm. The manufacturer claims fuel consumption in the combined cycle of 6.7 l/100 km. Special attention deserves the kinship of the power unit with Volkswagen engines, which has been a strategic partner of the Chinese company for many years. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission from AISIN of Japan.
In all versions, electronic systems ensure the safety of the driver and passengers — ABS/EBD/ESP/TCS/Brake assistant/Hill Hold Control, as well as disc brakes on both axles, front airbags, automatic door unlocking upon impact, three-point seat belts, rear parking sensors, LED daytime running lights, and other options. In C-NCAP crash tests, the model earned the highest rating — five stars. For comfort, ergonomic seats with combined eco-leather upholstery, air conditioning, a multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen display (radio, USB, AUX IN, Bluetooth), power steering, and a full set of electric windows are provided.
