A new car that should replace three models of the American brand at once — Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy — is preparing for release. As Autocar writes, citing an informed source, this new product can be compared to the Subaru Outback raised station wagon.
The model's debut is scheduled for early 2021. The car will be based on the C2 platform, familiar from the Focus. Under the hood, both petrol and diesel units are expected. In addition, the lineup will include a hybrid version of the station wagon, where a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine will work in tandem with an electric motor.
Information about the possible availability of all-wheel drive is still absent. The name of the future model is also kept secret.
In addition, Ford is preparing the compact crossover Puma for release. Its European sales will start before the end of the year, and the car itself will occupy the niche between EcoSport and Kuga. The Puma is based on the platform of the new generation Ford Fiesta hatchback. The crossover's trunk volume is 456 liters, which, according to the company, will be the best indicator in its class. Also, a power plant operating on the "mild hybrid" principle will be available for the car.
