The track-focused Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro supercar debuts on the US market, where its starting price will be $199,650. The production run of this coupe, created for racing circuits, will be limited to 750 units. Under the hood, the car features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 577 horsepower, paired with a seven-speed AMG Speedshift DCT transmission and rear-wheel drive. In creating the model, engineers applied developments and settings derived from the AMG GT3 and GT4 racing cars.
On the Nürburgring, this coupe posted a time of seven minutes and 04.63 seconds — six seconds faster than the standard road-going version of the AMG GT R.
Nevertheless, the GT R Pro is noticeably inferior to its rival — the 700-horsepower Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR, which conquered the 'Nordschleife' 24 seconds faster and set a track record. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS starts at $293,200, and for the track-oriented MR modification, you will have to pay an additional $86,600.
