Today, from Foose, one can only see a single sketch of the future car. In the early 1930s, the owner of a car dealership, Wes Rydell, and his wife Vivien approached General Motors with a request to create an exclusive coupe based on a Cadillac. The sketch was developed by the company's designer, Art Ross, but for unknown reasons, the project remained only on paper and was not realized in metal.
The concept involved using the platform of a Cadillac sedan with a reduced wheelbase, lowered ground clearance, and a rigid removable roof. Now Foose intends to bring this idea to life, naming it "Madam X". He is using a 1939 Cadillac Series 60 Sedan as the base.
It is not yet clear whether this is a personal project of the designer or a commission. The public unveiling of the car is scheduled for the end of summer.
