In particular, we are talking about a 1915 Ford Model T, on which the Dutch couple covered almost 130 thousand km! They set off on this unusual road trip in 2012, dividing it into several stages. The initial goal of the trip was to raise funds for orphans. The European division of Ford could not ignore such an event, so it helped the couple with financing the trip and its coverage.
From 2012 to 2014, the travelers drove their Ford about 100 thousand kilometers. According to them, during this period the Ford Model T had only one breakdown - the generator failed. True, on the way home, the traveling pensioners got into an accident, and almost near their house. The accident occurred in Belgium. Fortunately, the couple did not suffer much, but the old Ford received serious damage.
Today Dirk and Trudy are raising money to restore the rarity, and intend to continue the trip in the coming months, visiting those cities where for one reason or another they could not visit. Overall, the couple has traveled across all continents. Not a bad old age, is it?
