According to preliminary information, the new model will get the modular CLAR platform (from the new BMW 7 Series) and will be the largest model in the SUV lineup. There is no information yet on how much bigger it will be than the X5, but it is known to have 7 seats.
Most likely, the BMW X7 will borrow engines from the passenger "seven" and will be offered with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. As for the interior, according to rumors, the Germans want to make their SUV especially luxurious, almost better than the flagship sedan. Thus, individual seats with ventilation and massage systems and much more have been announced.

It should be noted that BMW has been working on creating a luxury SUV for almost 10 years. Back in 2007, the Germans planned to present their competitor to the Range Rover and Audi Q7. But the 2008 crisis made adjustments. For the second time, the Bavarians returned to their idea in 2014. And now, it seems, the SUV has real chances to go into production.
