US officials say that the German manufacturer, which supplies some components for cars, may have helped the automaker circumvent restrictions regarding diesel engines.

At this point, the investigation is at an early stage, and there is no confirmation that Bosch violated the law. Representatives of Bosch and the US Department of Justice declined to comment.

It is worth noting that earlier there was information that in 2007 Bosch supplied Volkswagen with software intended exclusively for engine testing, not for everyday use. In Bosch documents found during the concern's internal investigation, it was indicated that this software did not meet legal requirements.

Recall that due to dieselgate, Volkswagen recorded a quarterly loss for the first time in 15 years.
