Trucks that the KAMAZ automobile plant had previously supplied for sale in Ukraine have been seized. Due to recent events in Crimea and the complete lack of demand for these trucks in 2014, the plant decided to redirect a batch of 50 vehicles from Ukraine to Kazakhstan.

On Saturday and Sunday, 43 vehicles were delivered to the border crossing in the village of Senkivka, but when the last batch of 7 vehicles was leaving the warehouse in Chernihiv, the convoy was blocked by armed people who identified themselves as self-defense fighters. The main motive for such actions, the self-defense members cited the seizure of Ukrainian property in Crimea by Russian troops, which supposedly gives them the right to take such actions against Russian companies.

Towards the evening of Sunday, the self-defense fighters also seized 43 KAMAZ trucks that were at the border crossing. The efforts of the police to reason with the armed people were unsuccessful; the vehicles are under their guard.

Recall that recently the Kama Automobile Plant announced the cessation of supplies of its vehicles to Ukraine due to the difficult situation in the country.
