In all likelihood, the thieves decided that now the police, and even citizens themselves, have no time for them, and they have intensified their activities. Over the past day, dozens of such cases have been registered in Kyiv. Judging by the method of breaking into a car (through a smashed window), the skill level of these hooligans is at the level of a Neanderthal, who primarily wielded a boulder or a club.
They smash car windows, focusing on indirect signs of the presence of recording and any other electronic equipment. If a criminal sees mounts for a dash cam on the glass, wires for powering various devices, etc., he already considers these signs sufficient grounds for breaking into the cabin.

Many people hide their devices in the glove compartment, under the seat, or in other places hidden from prying eyes. But criminals focus on the mounts and wires for gadgets, breaking the glass in the hope of getting at least something.
So motorists can be advised to hide not only electronic devices but also their mounts and wires. Of course, leaving a briefcase on the seat means you can already mentally order a new side window. This applies not only to the dark time of day but also to daytime.
The only effective method of counteraction can be called the organization of self-defense units from residents of nearby houses, whose goal is to catch the thieves and hand them over to the police. A small educational conversation aimed at instilling respect for others' private property, backed by weighty arguments, would not hurt either.
