To illustrate this clearly, let's take the Skoda Octavia, which is quite popular here. More than four million of these cars have already rolled off the assembly line. That's an impressive number, especially considering that production of the model started 17 years ago.
But how great is the global popularity of the Skoda Octavia? Let's compare it with other models that have truly gained worldwide fame.

First place rightfully belongs to the Japanese manufacturer Toyota and its Corolla model, which has been produced since 1966. During this time, eleven generations of the car have appeared, and total sales have reached 37.5 million units. This achievement even made it into the Guinness Book of Records.

Second place goes to the Ford F-Series — a car that, from a European perspective, seems impractical and fuel-hungry. This large pickup has been sold since 1948, with a total production run of about 30 million units. However, unlike the Corolla, the F-Series is mainly in demand on the American market and is rarely found outside the US.

Third place is held by the German "people's" brand Volkswagen with the Golf model. The car was produced in seven generations, with a total production run of 27.5 million units.

Fourth place also goes to Volkswagen — with the Beetle model, which is rightfully considered a people's car. The brainchild of Ferdinand Porsche was produced from 1938 to 2003, and for a long time was manufactured under license in Brazil. Interestingly, it was the "Beetle" that became the predecessor of Porsche sports cars. In total, 23.5 million cars were produced.

Fifth place in our list is occupied by the Fiat 124, whose mass popularity was ensured by the Soviet Union with its "Zhiguli". The model's history began in 1966 in Italy and ended in 2012 in Tolyatti. During this period, many modifications appeared, with a total number reaching 23.3 million units.
