The most unexpected statement was that the UAZ Hunter will continue to be produced as long as there is any demand for it. However, marketers are deliberately making this model less attractive in terms of price.

Currently, the UAZ Hunter with the Korean Dymos gearbox costs at least 430 thousand rubles, while the UAZ Patriot with the same transmission costs 499 thousand. The smaller this gap, the faster buyers will choose a more modern car.

The situation is more complicated with another old model — the "loaf". There is no full replacement for it, so UAZ decided to bring back the UAZ Cargo trucks. They will be built on the basis of the UAZ Pickup, which will be lengthened by 30 cm, but instead of an all-metal van there will be a flatbed platform, and the cab will be designed for 3 or 5 seats. Engines — gasoline and diesel.

Among the more interesting updates, it is worth noting the transition from January 2014 to cathodic electrodeposition priming of the body instead of the old anodic electrodeposition. This will not only significantly improve the protection of metal against rust, but will also allow the gradual introduction of galvanizing of parts. By 2016, all UAZ bodies should be produced fully galvanized.
A less significant improvement is expected already next year. The "Pickups" and "Patriots" will receive new wiring, as well as improved handling. In 2015, these models will undergo a serious restyling — new bumpers and optics will appear.
But much more interesting is the new family of engines. Together with an unnamed European company (probably the engineering firm AVL), a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine will be developed. Its power will be at least 150 hp, and torque — 330 Nm. In addition, the updated models will lose two fuel tanks.
By 2015, a car with a unibody body will also appear. Most likely, it will be a crossover on the SsangYong Kyron platform.
Let us remind you that on August 6, production of the updated Patriot started at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.
