What maps are available in Ukraine now?

Since July, updated SD cards from NAVTEQ (version Q3/11) have started arriving at the "Elephant" dealership. They are compatible with cars manufactured in 2010 and newer.

Every owner can make the map better! Owners of cars with this system can participate in improving navigation maps by reporting errors and inaccuracies, such as:
a) routing errors,
b) missing road on the map,
c) incorrect road shape,
d) missing address,
e) POI errors,
f) questions about the appearance of the map of the city of N-sk.

All comments, wishes, claims and questions about the quality and coverage of the map can be sent to the supplier — NAVTEQ. This can be done here. On the website, you can track the status of your request and responses from NAVTEQ specialists.

Why might the signal be poor?

There can be several reasons for poor GPS reception:
1. On first power-up ("cold start"), the system memorizes satellite movement trajectories. Usually, for the first 20 minutes of driving, the system works unstable and loses coordinates, but then it returns to normal. On subsequent power-ups, it works normally.
2. If problems occur from time to time, they may not be related to reception quality but to other factors, for example:
2.1. Weather conditions.
2.2. The number of satellites over the territory of Ukraine at a given moment.
2.3. Density of urban development (the signal reflects off buildings, changing its length).
2.4. Cartographic inaccuracies: some roads may be mapped not entirely accurately.
2.5. "Jammers" used by the military and special services (they suppress the real satellite signal and generate a false one — in this case, the arrow "darts" across the screen).
2.6. The vehicle's position may be displayed incorrectly for a short time during a sharp turn off the route — navigation recalculates a new path at this time. All these phenomena are inherent in any navigation system. Comparative tests have shown that Nissan and Infiniti navigation is at least as good as analogues in positioning quality.
3. Interference from other radio frequency devices — phones, navigators, etc. For example, there is a known case of Nissan Connect system failures when connecting a specific model of a cell phone via Bluetooth.

* — the price of maps may change if the purchase price from the supplier changes. The validity of the program depends on activity and availability of free maps (check with the "Elephant" dealership, Odesa);
** — a mandatory condition for return: no damage to the map (inspection) and the presence of packaging;
** — errors can be reported with photo evidence or a brief description to: [email protected]
