Nissan decided to give the seven-seat versions to the new X-Trail and Pathfinder, while the Murano will remain a five-seater. The third-generation Nissan Murano will be lighter than its predecessor, and its exterior was greatly influenced by the Resonance concept car.

From the concept, the production Murano inherited the unusual headlights, V-shaped grille, and other stylish design elements. In terms of dimensions and interior volume, the new crossover is not inferior to its predecessor.

Two powertrain options are available: an upgraded 3.5-liter gasoline V6 and a hybrid with a total output of 250 hp, the same as the new Pathfinder. The hybrid consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a supercharger and an electric motor.

All Murano versions received an all-wheel drive system and the Xitronic continuously variable transmission.
