An electric UAZ can be bought for 39,990 euros – this amount is close to the price of a Tesla Model 3 in Europe. So what is this car for such money?

Electric version of the UAZ Hunter SUV

First, a few words about the "source" itself. The UAZ Hunter is a Russian utilitarian SUV, which is essentially an updated version of the Soviet UAZ-469. Taking it as a base, the Czechs replaced the radiator grille with a blank panel (read: a slightly updated design) and "threw out" the gasoline internals, replacing them with electric ones.

The MWM Spartan is powered by an electric motor producing 163 hp and 600 Nm. Interestingly, the transmission was left original (manual), and the car also retains the exhaust pipe, although it is no longer needed. The standard battery has a capacity of 62.16 kWh, which is claimed to be enough for 150 km of off-road driving. There is also a 90 kWh battery, in which case the range exceeds 200 km. DC fast charging is also provided, which replenishes 80% of energy in about an hour.

The base MWM Spartan comes with a soft top. A metal roof is available for an additional cost.

MW Motors also has a more affordable offer in its portfolio – the gasoline MWM Spartan. It differs little from the Hunter. For such a car, they ask 19,990 euros.
