Recall that the new Sportage was shown by Kia a month ago, but then it was about the version for the Asian and American markets, which, by the way, is longer than the "European" (yes, for the first time the Korean bestseller will have two body variants). In addition, as can be seen in the photo, the version for the Old World is not only smaller in dimensions, but also received a different rear part with modified rear pillars (and also lost the third side window).
Either way, both the American-Asian and European Sportage differ noticeably from the previous generation. And this applies not only to the exterior, but also to the interior: inside there is a large curved screen on which a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen multimedia system of exactly the same size are based.
The dimensions of the new Kia Sportage 2022 for Asia and America are 4660 x 1865 x 1660 mm, wheelbase – 2755 mm, trunk volume – 637 liters. The dimensions of the Old World variant, as well as its other characteristics, are still unknown - it is expected that the premiere of the car will take place in August, which will reveal all the cards.
In South Korea, sales of the new Sportage have already started at a price of about 22 thousand dollars. The crossover can be bought with a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine with 180 hp or a 2.0-liter diesel with 186 hp. In the first case, a 7-speed "robot" with two clutches is paired, in the second - an 8-speed "automatic". Later, the lineup will be replenished with other power units, including a classic hybrid and plug-in. In short, the Kia Sportage 2022 is given the same list of units as the platform-sharing Hyundai Tucson of the latest generation.
Recall that the Kia Sportage 2022 appeared in Ukraine long before its release - however, as a test prototype, not a production car.
