For now, the unnamed new product should take the place of the flagship of the British brand, which became vacant after the discontinuation of the large Mulsanne sedan.

Discussing the prospects of the new crossover, Adrian Hallmark referred to the situation on the Chinese car market and hinted that a Bentayga with an extended wheelbase could well become the best-selling Bentley model in that country, while also filling the niche previously occupied by the Mulsanne.

The head of the company emphasized that the brand's engineers are aimed at creating an "even more spacious and prestigious Bentayga." It follows that the future flagship, most likely, will not be a completely new development: under the British brand, an extended version of the Bentayga will appear with a differently organized interior and expanded individual customization options.

The appearance of a long-wheelbase Bentayga could be the response of the Volkswagen Group concern to the actions of Jaguar Land Rover and Daimler. Land Rover was the first to open the segment of especially comfortable SUVs, presenting in 2014 the Range Rover Long with an interior extended by 200 millimeters, and a year later the Mercedes-Maybach GLS debuted - an alternative view of an ultra-luxury all-road vehicle in a limousine format.
