The service recall is caused by a defect in the fuel line connector, which can lead to a gasoline leak and possible vehicle fire. In addition to replacing the defective part, service technicians will also update the cooling fan software to prevent the smell of gasoline from entering the cabin.

The recall covers Bentaygas with a V8 gasoline engine, produced from January 2018 to March 2020. In the US, 1,892 such vehicles were counted, in Europe — 783, and the total number of such crossovers worldwide is about 6,000.

Given that the British manufacturer recently announced the production of the 20,000th Bentayga, almost a third of the produced SUVs will have to be recalled.
