Skoda has for the first time equipped the Octavia RS with a hybrid system that can be charged from a regular outlet. This version will be sold under the designation vRS iV. Under the hood, it has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, together producing 245 horsepower. The car accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.3 seconds. On electric power alone, the car can travel about 60 kilometers.

Externally, the version differs from the regular Octavia with 19-inch alloy wheels, a widened bumper, a black radiator grille, a sport exhaust system with two trapezoidal tips, a spoiler, and a diffuser. In addition, the vRS received red brake calipers and LED headlights.

Inside, new seats with electric adjustments, a sport steering wheel, and aluminum pedal covers are installed. The driver has access to a multimedia system with a 10-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, three-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and a keyless entry system.

Later, versions with regular gasoline and diesel engines will also appear. The gasoline Octavia RS will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 245 horsepower, which corresponds to the output of the unit on the current generation model. The diesel modification will be equipped with a 2.0-liter engine with 200 horsepower.
Sales of the new Skoda Octavia RS are scheduled to begin in the fall of this year. The price of the car will be announced later.
