The characteristics of the power unit that the next-generation Subaru WRX STI will receive have become known.
According to Forbes, citing its own sources, the new model will get a 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine that develops 400 horsepower and 490 Nm of torque.
This power unit is designated FA24 and replaces the EJ20 engines (308 hp and 422 Nm of torque), as well as the EJ25, which was installed on export versions of the WRX STI (2.5 liters, 300 hp). Detailed information about the new generation WRX STI will appear shortly before its debut, scheduled for the end of 2020.
