Shortly before the premiere of the new product, scheduled for March 3, the company revealed some details about the model that is "charged" in every sense.

The Touareg R received a hybrid unit consisting of a three-liter turbocharged gasoline V6 and an electric motor. Their combined output is 462 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The SUV is equipped with an all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. According to preliminary data, an adaptive suspension may be offered for the Touareg R.

The SUV has several driving modes, including pure electric. The battery capacity of 14.1 kilowatt-hours is enough to cover a distance of 45 kilometers, and the maximum speed in this mode is 140 kilometers per hour. Other dynamic characteristics of the model are still kept secret.
In the European market, the Volkswagen Touareg R will appear by the end of 2020, with prices announced closer to launch.
