The car will be available in hatchback, fastback, and wagon body styles. For the first time, a sporty trim option — N Line — will be available for all of them. In Europe, sales of the new model will start a few months after the Geneva Motor Show. The Volkswagen Golf is named as the main competitor of the car.

Compared to its predecessor, the restyled model features a wide radiator grille and different V-shaped LED daytime running lights. The updated i30 also offers new wheel designs ranging from 16 to 18 inches in diameter.
Inside, the car features a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the multimedia system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver also gets wireless phone charging and a suite of advanced safety systems.

The updated Hyundai i30 is powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine. The unit produces 120 horsepower. For an additional cost, the car can also be equipped with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system in addition to this engine.
The new model can also be equipped with a 1.6-liter diesel engine producing 136 horsepower, which now also operates as a mild hybrid. The sporty N-Line version is powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that works in conjunction with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The unit produces 160 horsepower. All engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
