The camouflaged test prototype is almost indistinguishable from the 639-horsepower AMG GT 63 S version, but, judging by the video, it starts moving absolutely silently.
The Mercedes-AMG GT liftback, which will receive the index "73", will become the production version of the concept shown in 2017. It is expected that the production car will retain the hybrid powertrain with a total output of about 800 horsepower: it will include a four-liter biturbo V8 M177 and an electric motor.
According to preliminary data, the "seventy-third" Mercedes-AMG will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. The main rival of this model will be the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid with 680 horsepower. According to unofficial information, this flagship of the AMG line will be the first plug-in hybrid to be assembled in Affalterbach.
The debut of the Mercedes-AMG GT 73 is scheduled for 2020, although the exact date is not yet announced. Possibly, the premiere will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show, and sales of the liftback will start in the second half of the year.
