The Hyundai Aura is based on the chassis of the budget hatchback Grand i10 Nios. The difference in dimensions between the "related" models is due to the Aura's short trunk with a volume of 402 liters. In the Indian market, the Aura will replace the Xcent sedan, built on the basis of the previous generation Grand i10.

The range of engines is familiar from the hatchback: available are a naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1.2 liters (83 horsepower), a diesel "turbo-three" 1.2 (75 horsepower), and a 100-horsepower petrol turbo engine 1.0 with three cylinders. All engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and for 1.2-liter engines, an automated manual transmission (AMT) can be ordered. A special mention goes to the gas-powered 75-horsepower modification based on the 1.2 engine — it is available only with a manual gearbox.

Photos of the Aura's interior will be published later, but it is likely that the sedan's cabin will differ little from the hatchback.

The Hyundai Aura will go on sale in the Indian market in the first quarter of 2020. Assembly of the compact three-box model will be set up at the local plant of the Korean company. Within a year, Hyundai will decide on the export prospects of the new model.
