The MINI John Cooper Works GP is equipped with a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 306 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The engine works in conjunction with an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox. The front-wheel-drive hatchback with a mechanical self-locking differential can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, and its top speed is 306 km/h.
The car features carbon-fiber wheel arch extensions, a massive rear wing, twin central exhaust outlets, a new diffuser, and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
The MINI John Cooper Works GP has only two front seats, as engineers had to drop the rear row to install a roll cage. The interior features a sport steering wheel with a "12 o'clock" marker and paddle shifters that were 3D-printed.
Earlier, MINI stated that the new John Cooper Works GP laps the Nürburgring's Nordschleife in under 8 minutes, while the previous-generation hatch did it in 8 minutes and 23 seconds.
The production run is limited to 3,000 units, with the first ones reaching customers next spring. In the UK, prices for the hot hatch start at £33,895.
