The new model is built on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform. The length of the electric car is 4425 mm, and the width is 2034 millimeters. The ground clearance of the "green" XC40 is 175 mm versus 211 mm for the regular crossover. The trunk volume has also decreased and is now 413 liters. For the standard model, this figure is 460 liters. However, the designers added an additional luggage compartment in the front of the car with a volume of about 30 liters.

Eight different body colors are available for the car, as well as wheel rims with diameters of 19 and 20 inches. Due to the absence of an internal combustion engine, the car does not need a radiator grille, nor exhaust pipes at the rear.

The crossover is driven by two electric motors installed on each axle. The total power of the eco-friendly XC40 is 408 hp and 660 Nm of torque. Thanks to a battery with a capacity of 78 kWh, the car can travel about 400 kilometers without recharging. Acceleration to 100 km/h for the electric XC40 takes 4.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 180 km/h. You can replenish the battery charge to 80% in just 40 minutes.
