As noted in the company, due to the absence of an internal combustion engine, the car does not need a radiator grille, nor exhaust pipes at the rear. In addition, the abandonment of the internal combustion engine allowed designers to add an additional luggage compartment in the front of the car with a volume of approximately 30 liters. Eight different body colors will be available for the car, as well as wheel rims with diameters of 19 and 20 inches.

Earlier, Volvo noted that the electric XC40 will become one of the safest cars in the world thanks to a special reinforced structure and a lower center of gravity. The rear part of the body will be strengthened thanks to the electric unit integrated into the frame for optimal distribution of forces acting during a collision. This will minimize the risk of serious injuries to people in the cabin.
