The hardtop folds and unfolds in 16 seconds using six electric motors that replaced the hydraulic mechanism. The developers noted that this design is more reliable. The roof can be opened and closed at speeds up to 48 km/h.
Externally, the roadster differs from the regular targa with a removable panel by having two wind deflectors behind the headrests, as well as a glass partition between the cabin and the engine compartment, which helps reduce air flow recirculation and noise. Additionally, the roadster is equipped with a rear spoiler from the optional Z51 Performance package. On top of that, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible received different shock absorber settings.
The powertrain has not been changed. The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is equipped with a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 502 hp and 637 N·m of torque. The unit works in conjunction with an eight-speed preselective gearbox.
The roadster's dynamic characteristics have not yet been announced. Let us remind you that the standard targa can accelerate from standstill to 96 km/h in less than three seconds, and its top speed is 312 km/h.
