The official teaser of the Subaru Levorg Prototype wagon shows a large spoiler mounted on the fifth door, horizontal rear lights with updated lighting technology, as well as different door handles. It is quite possible that the new model will borrow some exterior elements from the Viziv Tourer concept, which debuted in 2018 at the Geneva exhibition.
The second-generation production wagon is expected to feature modern developments, including a semi-autonomous driving system. Information about the powertrains of the production version is not yet available. The current Levorg is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 170 horsepower. Additionally, the lineup includes a two-liter engine with 300 horsepower. Both options are paired with a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive system.
Furthermore, at the Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru will present a special modification of the WRX STi sedan — the EJ20 Final Edition version. With this car, the Japanese brand bids farewell to the legendary EJ20 engine, whose production will soon end. This family of opposed four-cylinder engines appeared three decades ago on the Legacy model, and later was used in various Subaru vehicles, including racing ones.
The current version of the engine in the WRX STi produces 308 horsepower. The EJ20 Final Edition modification will feature a commemorative plaque on the engine and 19-inch golden BBS wheels. The special version's production run will be limited to 555 units.
