Externally, the car differs slightly from the electric Mini Electric Concept shown in 2017. The new model has the same "closed" radiator grille with yellow inserts, special aluminum alloy wheels, and a port for connecting the charging cable on the right.

The production Mini Cooper SE is equipped with an electric motor from the BMW i3S, which develops 184 hp (135 kW) and 270 Nm of torque. The motor allows the hatchback to accelerate from standstill to 60 km/h in 3.9 seconds, while the sprint to 100 km/h takes 7.3 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h.

The set of lithium-ion batteries installed under the car's floor provides a range of 235 to 270 kilometers. With an 11 kW charger, the battery charge can be replenished to 80% in 2.5 hours, and with a 50 kW fast charging system, it takes just 35 minutes.

The luggage compartment volume is comparable to standard Mini hatchbacks with traditional three- and four-cylinder internal combustion engines — 211 liters and 731 liters with the rear seatbacks folded down.

The standard equipment list for the electric car includes LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, and multimedia with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and navigation. Prices for the new model will be announced later.
