The debut of the open-top version of the Lexus LC took place at the Festival of Speed in British Goodwood. Japanese Super GT500 champion driver Nick Cassidy will drive the car in the hill climb competition.
The published photos show that the car, hidden under light camouflage, is almost no different from the concept shown in early 2019 at the Detroit auto show, as well as from the production coupe. The main difference is a folding soft top with an electric drive.
The specifications of the convertible are still kept secret. The regular Lexus LC coupe is equipped with a five-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine producing 477 horsepower. The engine works in conjunction with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration to one hundred kilometers per hour takes 4.7 seconds for such a car.
In addition, buyers have access to a hybrid modification, which includes a three-liter V6 engine, an electric motor, and a set of lithium-ion batteries. The total output of such a unit is 355 horsepower.
