The camouflaged SUVs covered a total of one and a half million kilometers during tests in different parts of the world. In particular, the new Defenders visited Kenya in Africa with its "merciless roads", drove through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado at an altitude of more than 3 thousand meters above sea level, and were also tested beyond the Arctic Circle. Temperatures in different parts of the planet ranged from minus 40 to plus 50 degrees Celsius. In total, engineers conducted more than 45 thousand individual tests.

Land Rover is testing models with both a five-door (index 110) and a three-door body (index 90). The next-generation Defender will be built on a new lightweight chassis with independent suspension.

It is expected that the SUV will lose V8 engines, which will be replaced by new two-liter diesel and gasoline turbo engines from the Ingenium line. It is possible that the engine range will also be supplemented with V6 units. In addition, the SUV will have a hybrid modification.
