In 1959, Briton Roy Salvadori and American Carroll Shelby, driving the racing Aston Martin DBR1, were the first to see the checkered flag. The second step of the podium went to Frenchman Maurice Trintignant and Belgian Paul Frère, who also represented the Aston Martin team.

The Aston Martin DBS 59 is built on the basis of the extreme Superleggera version. The coupe received a signature Racing Green body shade, contrasting with a black carbon roof, bronze elements, as well as special 21-inch wheels with Y-shaped spokes. On the rear spoiler appeared the chassis number of the racing DBR1, and on the sun visor an image of the original racing car was applied.

The model is equipped with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine developing 725 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The engine works in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The sports car accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and its top speed is 339 km/h.

A total of 24 examples of the Aston Martin DBS 59 will be produced, each of which "will symbolize one hour of that legendary victory."
