The Mercedes-Benz GLB is built on the extended platform of the current A-Class and, compared to other brand crossovers, has a more angular design, which should have a positive effect on the amount of space in the cabin.

The crossover is 4634 mm long (only 22 mm shorter than the older GLC). The width and height of the new model are 1890 and 1900 mm, respectively. The latter parameter is calculated taking into account roof rails. The wheelbase is 2829 mm.

The concept is powered by a two-liter turbo engine M 260, producing 224 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed DCT robot and 4Matic all-wheel drive with three modes: Eco and Comfort distribute torque between the axles in a ratio of 80:20, Sport - 70:30. In addition, there is an off-road profile in which the clutch acts as a center differential and transfers 50% of the traction to the rear wheels.

The cabin is equipped with three rows of seats. The second row folds in a 40:20:40 ratio and can be moved longitudinally by 140 mm: 90 forward and 50 backward. The seats can be folded and slightly shifted using the Easy-Entry lever, which facilitates access to the third row. The interior trim uses nappa leather, nubuck, natural wood, and aluminum.

The production Mercedes-Benz GLB is expected to debut in the fall at Frankfurt. Sales of the model will begin in the first half of next year.
