The Supra disappeared from Toyota's lineup in 2002. The fifth generation of the model, like its predecessors, retained a front-engine layout, a six-cylinder engine, and rear-wheel drive.

The overall length of the revived coupe is 4380 mm, width is 1865 mm, and height is 1295 mm. The wheelbase is 2470 mm. The weight of the new Supra, which features an aluminum and steel construction, is 1520 kg (in the top version). Engineers used a double-wishbone suspension at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear. The weight distribution is ideal — 50:50.

The top engine is a three-liter inline six-cylinder BMW unit with turbocharging, producing 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine allows the coupe to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

In addition, the new Supra will be available with a two-liter turbo engine in two states of tune: 197 hp (320 Nm) and 258 hp (400 Nm). In the first case, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.5 seconds, and in the second — 5.2 seconds. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The model's equipment list includes adaptive suspension and an active rear differential with electronic control.

In the US, the new Toyota Supra with the three-liter engine will cost at least 50 thousand dollars.
