The winners were chosen by a jury consisting of 54 journalists from the USA and Canada.
In the main category, the Korean sedan Genesis G70 took first place, beating the Honda Insight and Volvo S60/V60 in total points. The jury noted the rich equipment and handling of the model, thanks to which the car is able to compete with more expensive German sedans from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
Among practical cars, the compact crossover Hyundai Kona was recognized as the best. It managed to beat the Acura RDX and the electric Jaguar I-Pace.
The title of Truck of the Year went to the new Chevrolet Silverado 1500, which outpaced the GMC Sierra 1500 and Ram 1500.
It is worth noting that a year earlier, the winner was the Honda Accord. The final list then also included the Kia Stinger and Toyota Camry. In the SUV/truck category, the Lincoln Navigator won, and among crossovers, the Volvo XC60 stood out.
