According to Belarusian media, citing the head of the presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the republic, Vladimir Gusakov, it is planned to organize the production of electric vehicles in small volumes at the facilities of the BelGee plant.
"A year ago, we first showed an electric vehicle assembled on the basis of a Chinese car. Now it is entirely our development - from the motor to all key components," Gusakov noted.
As previously stated by the general director of the Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Sergei Poddubko, the first Belarusian electric car will be able to travel no more than 100 kilometers on a single charge, and its maximum speed is limited to 90 km/h. A full charge of the batteries will require at least three hours, but it will be possible to replenish the energy reserve to 85% in just half an hour.
