The electric roadster is built on the EQ Fortwo Cabrio platform. In addition to the folding roof, the car also lacks side windows. According to the manufacturer's concept, this will give the driver the opportunity to "feel all the charm of open-air driving."

The exterior of the unusual show car references the Crossblade (2001) and Forspeed (2011) models. The car features LED headlights, a diffuser, a rear wing, 18-inch wheels, flush door handles, and three-dimensional taillights. Inside the prototype, instead of ventilation deflectors, two additional screens are installed, and the steering wheel is designed in an unusual style reminiscent of an aircraft yoke.

Under the hood of the Forease is an electric motor with 82 hp. The concept's range is about 160 kilometers. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 11.4 seconds. The top speed is limited to 130 km/h.

The Forease will not go into production. However, the company previously announced that starting in 2020, Smart will switch to producing exclusively electric vehicles. In just two years, only cars with "green" powertrains will remain in the brand's lineup. Currently, sales of Smart gasoline models in North America have already been discontinued.

The Daimler concern plans to invest 500 million euros in the Smart plant in Hambach (France). These funds will be directed toward modernizing the factory, where, in particular, production of the compact electric crossover Mercedes-Benz EQA will be organized.
