This was reported to Autocar by the head of marketing of the Czech brand, Alen Fevy.

As the top manager explained, the new crossover will differ from the standard version of the model in the sporty design of the body and interior, as well as modified settings of the chassis and steering. At the same time, according to Fevy, the power of the new product will not necessarily exceed the indicators of a regular crossover.

The first production Skoda electric car will hit the market in 2020. It will be a crossover that will take a position in the model range between Karoq and Kodiaq. The car will be built on the MEB modular architecture, which the Volkswagen Group developed specifically for vehicles with an electric powertrain.

A concept version of such a model was presented in September 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Vision E prototype was equipped with a pair of electric motors producing a total of 306 horsepower, with all-wheel drive. The maximum speed of the crossover reached 180 kilometers per hour, and the battery reserve was enough for about 500 kilometers of travel.
