This name was used from 1969 to 2005 for compact and mid-size SUVs. In the brand's model lineup, the new model took a place between Equinox and Traverse. The new Blazer borrowed the platform from the latter, but will go on sale only with a two-row interior.

The crossover will be offered in three trims: base, Premier, and RS. The car features a design in the style of the new Camaro: a large grille, LED headlights, a spoiler, and wide wheel arches. 18- and 21-inch wheels will be available.

Inside the Chevrolet Blazer, there is an 8-inch color display, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, wireless charging, and six USB ports. The driver has access to adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance systems, pedestrian detection, a rearview camera, and lane keeping assist.

The base version of the Blazer is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine producing 193 hp. Top variants of the crossover are equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 unit with 306 hp. The Blazer also comes with all-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Production of the model will be set up at a General Motors plant near the Mexican city of Monterrey. Global sales of the new model are expected to start closer to the beginning of next year. Prices for the Chevrolet Blazer will be announced later.
