The exact circumstances of the incident are unknown, but in the video posted on the Facebook group C8 Corvette Owners And Friends (which can be viewed here), a potential buyer is seen driving the car away in front of a manager standing next to him (and next to the Corvette itself).

The dealership employee tried to stop the criminal, although he did not play the hero, as did other staff members (they only limited themselves to indignant "sighs") – obviously, the car was insured against such incidents.

But what is most interesting, the thief did not have to enjoy his "loot" for long, as the chase ended just a few blocks from the scene of the crime. The attacker abandoned the car and ran away. Whether he was caught and whether the Corvette was damaged is unknown.

It should be noted that the Chevrolet Corvette C8 is a scarce car. There is high demand for the sports car, while the manufacturer does not have time to produce the necessary number of cars (mostly due to the global semiconductor shortage). The "eighth" Corvette is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 producing 495 hp and 637 Nm (mid-engine layout) and an 8-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds. The car has been produced since early 2020.
