Official sources have not yet confirmed this information. According to unofficial data, the decision was made due to weak demand for this version of the car. As a result, Land Rover will produce the model exclusively in five-door and open body styles.

Serial production is scheduled to start next year. However, a prototype of the future SUV has already been caught on camera several times during test runs. As seen in the spy shots, the new model will be somewhat larger, which will increase interior space. The exterior is expected to feature Velar styling elements, as well as solutions already applied to the updated Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

The car will be based on a revised D8 platform. The new Evoque will have front-wheel drive, with an all-wheel-drive version available as an option.

Buyers will also be offered a hybrid modification. The powertrain will consist of a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. Additionally, the design will include a 48-volt electrical system.
