The car is named after the Italian town of Tivoli, known for the beauty of the area in which it is located. In the South Korean brand, they say that Tivoli is created based on the philosophy of "Reliable, special, high quality". The car is developed on a new platform, with a new body, two types (gasoline and diesel) of new engines.

The development of the crossover lasted 42 months, and the investment in the project amounted to 280 million euros. The engine range includes a new 1.6-liter eXDi160 engine (128 hp) and a 1.6-liter gasoline engine e-XGI160 (115 hp). Both engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission and can be installed on cars with front or all-wheel drive.

Tivoli has one of the most spacious interiors and trunks in its class, as well as many storage compartments. Six colors of instrument lighting and even red leather interior trim are provided.

In Ukraine, in July, a gasoline version of the crossover with front-wheel drive with manual and automatic transmission will be presented. In the future, the line of modifications will be expanded with a diesel version and all-wheel drive modifications.

The start of sales of the SsangYong Tivoli in Ukraine is scheduled for early July.
