According to information from Electrek, the base version of the Tesla Motors electric car will be able to accelerate from a standstill to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in less than 4 seconds. It is not yet specified whether this figure applies to the standard modification or to more powerful variants.

According to fresh unofficial data, the new electric car is equipped with an 80-kilowatt-hour battery, which is enough for a range of approximately 480 kilometers without recharging.

It is assumed that a completely new platform will be created for the sedan, since the company "Tesla" does not plan to use a shortened version of the chassis from the Model S. The price of the base version of the sedan will be about 35 thousand dollars, and more expensive trim levels will cost buyers in the range from 50 to 60 thousand dollars. The first deliveries of cars to customers will begin no earlier than the end of 2017.

The official unveiling of the Tesla Model 3 is scheduled for a special event in the United States, which will take place on March 31 at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time (which corresponds to 7:30 a.m. on April 1 Moscow time). At the same event, the company will begin accepting preliminary orders for the new model.
