The design of the new Cruze hasn't undergone a revolution; it clearly features traits already familiar to consumers from the Impala and Malibu. The car can be offered in the usual Chevrolet trims: L, LS, LT, Premier, as well as the RS package with a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, a splitter on the front bumper, a different grille, and side skirts.

The car has become 113 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, which is a significant weight that can positively affect the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle. That's already impressive.

The standard powertrain for the Chevrolet Cruze is a new 1.4-liter turbo engine producing 153 hp and 240 Nm of torque. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. Fuel consumption is in the range of 5.5–6 liters per 100 kilometers.

To improve fuel efficiency, the engine is equipped with a stop-start system and works with a six-speed manual gearbox; there is also an option with a six-speed automatic for an additional cost.

The base Chevrolet Cruze is equipped with ten airbags, stability control, and a traction control system. Additionally, available features include: rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and rollover sensing and protection activation.

In the USA and Canada, the new Chevrolet Cruze will go on sale in early 2016, with diesel versions from 2017. The situation in Ukraine and Russia is not yet known.
