As is known, no one is immune to unexpected financial problems. Even if you are sure that you have no outstanding loans or debts, there is still a chance of falling under the scrutiny of the enforcement service.

For the court to issue a ruling on the seizure of a car, it is enough for the amount of debt to exceed 3,500 hryvnias. This could be, for example, an old unpaid fine, an overdue loan, utility debts, unpaid employee salaries, or alimony. Added to all this are penalties, enforcement fees, and other court costs.

When the court ruling comes into force, a traffic police officer gets the right to stop the vehicle and send it to a special impound lot. The owner will be able to get the car back only after fully paying off the debt, as well as paying the enforcement fee, towing costs, and vehicle storage fees.

If the owner does not have the funds to pay off the entire amount, the vehicle will be put up for auction.

The traffic police remind drivers of the need to follow traffic rules, and if a fine has been issued, not to delay its payment. This must be done no later than 15 days from the moment the ruling is received.
